In order to accelerate exponential deployment of globally sustainable energy innovation an expanded innovation agenda has been identified by leading experts, including IPCC scientists, as providing an enabling environment for a new generation of innovative solutions that are not only capable of delivering clean energy innovation, but simultaneously deliver on other global sustainability goals.

The side-event follows on from yearly exponential progress reports with expanded stakeholders from MI’s Net-Zero Compatibility Initiative, initiated at MI-3 to support the development of an international framework for avoided emissions.

The panel will discuss the MI partnership with the UNFCCC Global Innovation Hub, where the focus will be on the rapidly growing number of stakeholders that are adopting an expanded innovation agenda using the MI framework for net-zero compatible innovations and avoided emissions. It will discuss paths for exponential uptake of globally sustainable innovations and how the capacity to assess such innovations can be mainstreamed.
