Rapid Innovation and Deployment of CCUS: Key Enablers

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The global community expects immediate action for breakthrough technologies to address the existential threat of climate change. The IPCC’s latest findings make clear that CCUS is an essential capability that will be tailored to country-specific needs. Rather than treating carbon as a harmful byproduct of energy production, CCUS supports creation of unique value for carbon as a feedstock to innovative materials, petrochemicals, and other applications.

Policy instruments, technology development, and market creation must be closely calibrated to allow for a globally scaled solution. The energy transition must be equitable and sustainable for all countries, rather than mandate a single solution across levels of development and diverse resource endowments.

This panel will provide a unique set of perspectives on the promise of CCUS, policy enablers, financing mechanisms consistent with emerging ESG frameworks, and describe opportunities to create a commercially viable circular system that can transform stranded carbon assets into valuable products.
