There is a strong international consensus on climate change goals, but the world remains far off track to meet them. The energy crisis and threat of a global food crisis underline the equal urgency of transforming the supply of essential commodities and services.

International collaboration can make those transitions faster, easier, and lower costs. Without international collaboration, the transition to net zero global emissions could be delayed by decades.

The Breakthrough Agenda Report was commissioned by 45 world leaders at COP26 and has been delivered by a unique partnership of the IEA, IRENA and the UN high-level Action Champions’ team. It provides independent authoritative advice on the most urgent and high impact opportunities to strengthen collaboration and challenges the international community to address them. In this event senior representatives from the author organisations will set out their recommendations and the reasons for their urgency with an opportunity for audience questions.
