Transforming Global Grids: International Collaboration and Implementing the Power Breakthrough

The rapid expansion and modernisation of transmission lines is essential to unlocking the full potential of the global clean energy transition. A tripling of global expenditure on grids is needed over the next decade to keep 1.5oC within reach. That is why COP26 saw the launch of key initiatives, including the Green Grids Initiative - One Sun One World One Grid (GGI-OSOWOG) and Glasgow Power Breakthrough, committed to advancing this ambitious but critical agenda.

This event will showcase progress to date by leading initiatives, including speeches by leading Energy Ministers.

It will also bring together an expert panel to reflect on the recommendations of the Power Breakthrough and discuss the challenges of building green grids, what needs to be done, and how by working in partnership through associations such as the GGI-OSOWOG we can accelerate the global transition.
