This event will discuss the challenge and opportunity for CCUS as a major decarbonization lever for the global cement sector. As part of its Roadmap to achieve net-zero concrete by 2050, the cement industry has made a commitment of launching 10 industrial-scale CCUS projects by 2030.

The two CEM Initiatives, CCUS and IDDI, are keen to work with the industry and other key stakeholders to define practical, immediate steps to facilitate the identification and deployment of these early projects, followed by many others.

In the beginning of the event, the industry will outline its challenge, after which a panel discussion will delve into key enabling factors such as support policies and financing, public procurement policies and CO2 infrastructure and storage options and strategic hubs.

At the end of the event, a major collaboration declaration between CEM CCUS Initiative and GCCA will be announced.
