"Neha Verma joined Ministry of Steel, Govt of India in Jan 2022 where she is posted as Director in the field of energy, environment, sustainability and climate change with focus on decarbonization of the steel industry, while working in areas of Circular Economy, Energy Efficiency, Clean Energy Transition, Green Hydrogen, CCUS etc.
She is an Indian Forest Service Officer with 17 years of experience in the field of natural resource management, biodiversity, wildlife, sustainability, climate change and environment prior to joining Ministry of Steel. She also has global corporate experience of 6 years as she worked in IT industry, both in India and US.
She is a passionate advocate of sustainable future through climate action, wildlife conservation and environment protection and leverages her extensive public policy experience to achieve these goals.
She is an engineering graduate from IIT Kanpur and holds Master degrees in Forestry as well as Management Studies (Public Policy).
